Lovely atmosphere and great food, plus vegetarian options. This is the only place where I've found a Tamarind Margarita (outside of Mexico)- at least on the East Coast. Absolutely delicious. Service was friendly and quick too.

Good: Most restaurants' ice tea is hours old and bland. This one was flavorful. They didn't have Sweet and Low but did have Splenda and sugar options, so that was good. The salsa has a hint of heat and a good mixture of onions and parsley. Homemade and not from a jar. I ordered the tacos de chicharron, which is fried pork bits. They came out okay, though they were fried inconsistently--some lightly fried (great!) to salt fried (tough chew). I wonder if they weren't stirred in the fryer. Overall flavor was good. I probably should've stuck with a traditional filling. The rice was light and tasted of chicken. Yummy! The refried beans were so good, but a bit runny. The waitress, Andrea, was attentive and refilled my drink after a few minutes of it being near the edge of the table to show her it was empty. The whole staff seems to work hard. I saw a few joking and enjoying their jobs. Bad: The tostada (tortilla chips) were a bit stale. Inside the restaurant there was an incredibly loud talking family that the restaurant didn't ask to quiet down. Overall: A good representation of Mexican cuisine. Nice atmosphere with bright lights, colors and art. They have a sister restaurant a block away so know this review is for the one directly facing 2nd street.

The food at this place is awesome. The combo platter was full of my favorite snack. And the chicken soup was fantastic, the burrito was the best. Will duplicate this order again, for sure.

Cool little mexican joint i used to frequent but its been a while. My buddy wanted to go for his bday so figured id review them. The interior is decorated with custom chairs and booths with mexican carved or painted scenes on them from camping to harvesting agave. The service is pretty good, kind bartender accommodating all our group of 4s requests. We went for a birthday and ate like kings. I was unimpressed with the appetizer "Banana Peppers". I wish portion size was listed on the menu. The order came with 3 banana peppers stuffed with cheese and wrapped in crispy bacon. Ofcourse i had to give one to the birthday boy and another to a buddy sitting beside me. That left me with a half pepper aka a bite and i gave the other half to our 4th member of our group. For $12 that wasnt worth it. The guacamole was bright green, fresh tasting, and limey. Very good. The chips were pretty good too. We also ordered a queso fundido app. It was served in a ceramic dish i see fish served in sometimes. The fundido was like 1/2" or so deep at most and didnt last long with a group of 4. Small portion. Tasted very good tho, i guess some of my group thought too much cilantro on top but i didnt notice. Meals were all on point tonight. Birthday boy got Birria tacos $17with flour tortillas and recommended i do the same. Trying to expand my horizens I ordered the Birria Dinner $21 which comes with 3 flour tortillas. Comparing the 2 meals i feel that the only difference was how it was plated. Both appeared to have the same amount of rice, beans, & meat. Both were very good. I asked for hot sauce and the spiciest one they had. The waiter told us to try the house made tomatillo hot sauce. I didnt find it too spicy, it was more chipotle than spicy. The bill showed a $3 charge for the hot sauce which leaves a feeling of being nickel and dimed. Next time ill ask for the El Yucateco green habanero sauce that is spicier and not an additional cost. Our bill was $185 ha. Next my buddy ordered chicken chimichangas and they looked very good. He finished the chimichangas so he mustve liked them. Lastly my other buddy ordered salsa verde with pork. That came in a molcajete and looked phenomenal. Also came with rice and beans and 3 flour tortillas. He loved it!! He can eat a lot and didn't finish it all either. One buddy got a few cocktails he enjoyed. A grapefruit marg and a Jarritos cocktail?? Overall we had a blast, didnt wait to sit at the bar on a sunday at 645pm and the food overall was mighty tasty but i do feel other options ive reviewed are better deals with the same quality of food and service. They do have a great jarritos soda selection but at $3.50 i passed because other places are half that cost.

I love this Mexican restaurant - Nicest staff. When my dad didn't know what to order but didn't want anything spicy, they accommodate with a pleasant enjoyable dish that he loved. I love the Tacos and Taco Tuesday is a great deal on tacos. I would definitely go back every week on Tuesday - This is where you'll find me :) The margarita was delicious but only serves it in the one size you see in the picture.

We heard good things about this place, so ventured out with some friends to give Puerto Vallarta a try....GLAD WE DID!! The food here iS REALLY GOOD! Everything is very fresh, good quality, and cooked propery. Great service and drinks too! THe only feedback I have is that the back beans could have been a tad seasoned more and I wish my chicken enchalda had a bit more verde sauce. Other than that.....we were impressed and def will be back!
